Here are the nominees of the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards – BTS, IU,


Beyond the end of year celebrations and new resolutions, the end of the year also brings awards! One of them is the highly anticipated Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

Known for celebrating the biggest names in Korean music and their impeccable live performances, this year’s coveted awards ceremony takes place on December 11, 2021, marking the 12th installment of MAMA. MAMA 2021 to be hosted by one of K-pop’s most iconic groups Lee hyori.

At November 3, MAMA announced its list of nominees via a global livestream on Youtube. The tastes of BLACKPINK’s BTS, IU, LISA and ROSÉ, EXO KAI, BAEKHYUN, and DO, KANG DANIEL, AESPA, ITZY, ENHYPEN, TXT, DAY6, NCT 127, SEVENTEEN, TWICE, and others are in contention this year.

british group Cold game are also nominated for their very first MAMA for ‘My world,’ their collaboration with BTS.

This year, only 2 categories will be determined by 100% of fan votes: World icon of the year and World Top 10 Fan Choice. Meanwhile, the winners of the Artist of the year, song of the year, and Album of the year awards will be determined by a panel of judges, physical album sales, digital music data, etc. Check out the breakdown below:

Vote for Global Top 10 Fan Choice start on 25, 6 p.m. KST / JST (5 p.m. SGT / PHT) on the MAMA website.
