The 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards would take place on THIS date

Awards season is falling on us faster than we thought. According to several reports from September 7, the famous 2021 edition of the Mnet Asian Music Awards will be held on December 11 of this year. The event will take place in South Korea for a second continuous year following the 2020 Paju Show.

A music industry official commented, “The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will be held in Korea this year after last year taking into account the overall situation, including COVID-19. “

The venue for MAMA 2021 would be at the same location as last year, CJ ENM Contents World in Paju, Gyeonggi-do. It is a 213,000 square meter site with the size of 32 football fields and is currently not open to the public. Following controlled attendance and precautions taken for last year’s show, fans are hoping that more attention will be paid to the safety and comfort of performers.

It was also reported that a lot of consideration had been made to make the show an international feat as it usually takes place overseas, but ultimately the possibility of the same was ruled out due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, previous editions of the awards show have been held internationally in various locations including Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, collecting countless eyeballs for the widely acclaimed show. MAMA began its journey in 1999 as the Mnet Video Music Awards, before becoming Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2009.
